How is Vanilla Life different to other life insurance brokers?

We do not offer any advice or take any commission from the insurance companies. We work on what is known as an information only basis giving you the tools to find and apply for the cover that you require.
This allows us to provide you with the very lowest rates.

How can Vanilla Life offer such low rates?

Because we do not offer any advice and we reinvest all our commission into your policy we are able to provide you with the lowest rates. The only way we can do this is to charge a nominal processing fee of £35 to cover our costs.

Where do I get copies of trust schedules?

Dave to provide links to insurers sites.

What is a menu protection plan and who offers them?

A menu protection plan is where an insurer allows you to have more than one policy within one plan. Insurers such as AXA, Bright Grey, Royal Liver and a number of others provide this service.

What is the benefit of using two individual policies instead of a joint one?

Using two individual policies means you double the benefit of the policy without doubling the cost. For example a joint life policy for £200,000 would only pay out once in the event of the first death. However, two individual policies would pay out on each death, giving a combined benefit of £400,000.

Where do I find a list of the critical illnesses covered in my policy?

The full list of critical illnesses covered in your policy is available in the Key Facts Document provided to you before you complete your application. Read more about the types of critical illneses covered

What identification requirements does Vanilla Life have?

The first part of the identification verification is satisfied with the Direct Debit details we will collect. However, where the premium is in excess of £65 per month further verification will be required. Wherever possible, Vanilla Life will carry out online identification verification checks at minimal inconvenience to you, using your passport or driving license number.

Which insurers does Vanilla Life use?

We have access to a wide range of insurers to ensure we provide you with as much choice as possible.

How is Vanilla Life regulated?

Please take a moment to read our Initial Disclosure Document explaining exactly how we are regulated.

What is the refund policy for Vanilla Life?

Once an application is submitted to a provider no refund will be issued. However, on receipt of an application if we do not feel any provider will accept the application we will contact you before the application is submitted.
Where an application is declined by an insurer we will offer to place an application with an alternative insurer at no further cost. If this situation should arise please e-mail support@vanilla-life.co.uk.
